NFL: Top positional need for all 32 teams
By Robby Sabo
Minnesota Vikings
- 2014 Finish: 7-9, 3rd in NFC North
- Top Positional Need: Middle Linebacker
For Mike Zimmer, his first go-around as boss of an NFL squad can be described as well done.
Dealing with a less than stellar talent group and Adrian Peterson drama to boot, Zimmer led his Minnesota Vikings to a solid 7-9 record.
Vikings Middle Linebackers:
- Audie Cole
- Casey Matthews
Outside linebacker Anthony Barr was a revelation for Zimmer in his rookie season coming up with two forced fumbles, three recoveries and 55 solo tackles. Pairing him up with a middle linebacker who could quarterback the defense for the next several years could be the start of a fierce foundation.
Picking No. 11 allows Rick Spielman and company to go in many different directions.
A defensive end to bolster a group that equips Brian Robison and Everson Griffin could be in the cards. Other areas of need are offensive tackle, wide receiver, and of course running back with the uncertainty surrounding Peterson.
