6. Arizona Diamondbacks

The Arizona Diamondbacks made a decision this past offseason.

It was, indeed, to ride the Cuban wave like much of baseball has.

Top Prospects:

  1. Archie Bradley, RHP (25)
  2. Braden Shipley, RHP (26)
  3. Aaron Blair, RHP (40)
  4. Yasmany Tomas, 3B/OF (57)
  5. Touki Toussaint, RHP (71)
  6. Jake Lamb, 3B (78)
  7. Pete O’Brien, C/1B
  8. Brandon Drury, 3B/2B
  9. Nick Ahmed, SS
  10. Domingo Leyba, MI

Yosmany Tomas is priming up right now to be the D’Backs opening day third baseman. He’s shown ability to hit for power while playing an athletic spot on the field. Whether or not he can live up to the hype Jose Abreu created last season remains to be seen.

Righty Archie Bradley is the crown jewel in the organization. Unfortunately though, his 2014 was a bitter disappointment – only making 18 starts in total.

Still, Arizona is loaded in the pitching category.

Tony La Russa taking over as Chief Baseball Officer shook up an entire organization in the matter of months.
