Being a super spy like James Bond certainly doesn’t come without its fair share of hazards. Just ask Daniel Craig; unfortunately, he would know.

Judging from the looks of things, the James Bond actor will be off his feet for a little while before returning to production later this month.

According to BBC News, Daniel Craig has flown to New York in order to have arthroscopic knee surgery to repair an injury that was sustained on the set of Spectre.

There is a little bit of good news here. The procedure itself is said to be very minor and doesn’t seem to be interfering with the filming schedule at all.

A spokeswoman for the studio told BBC News that the break in filming was pre-scheduled and that Craig would be returning to Pinewood Studios to continue production on Spectre on April 22nd.

"“During a scheduled break, Daniel Craig had arthroscopic surgery to repair his knee injury. He will rejoin production on April 22nd at Pinewood,” she told BBC News."

Needless to say, Daniel Craig will have to be in tip top shape before he gets back to work on April 22nd. James Bond isn’t exactly going to have things easy in the new film.

In Spectre, James Bond receives a cryptic message from someone in his past that sends him on a journey to track down a super-secret organization known as Spectre. Unfortunately, the super spy will have to make his way through many layers of lies and deceit before he will be able to uncover the true nature of the organization.

Spectre is being directed by Sam Mendes. We’re sure that Bond fans have heard this name before as Mendes is also responsible for directing the 23rd film in the James Bond franchise, Skyfall.

In addition to Craig, there is plenty of talented people who will be taking up their reigns of the major players in the new film. Craig will be joined by beauties like Monica Bellucci, Lea Seydoux, Naomie Harris, and Stephanie Sigman.

He’ll also be joined by actors like Big Eyes actor Christoph Waltz, Guardians of the Galaxy actor Dave Bautista, Ralph Fiennes, Ben Whishaw, and many more.

We don’t know about you, but we are excited to see the newest film in the franchise. It is pretty clear that the studio sees Spectre as an instant success as it is rumored that they have already begun work in tracking down a cast and crew to begin work on the 25th film in the franchise.

It makes plenty of sense that the Sony Pictures would like to capitalize on the franchise for as long as they possibly can. The latest film in the franchise, Skyfall, brought in an over $88 million opening weekend for a lifetime domestic gross of $304.4 million. This pales in comparison to the film’s haul in the foreign market.

Skyfall pulled in over $804 million overseas to give the film  a worldwide gross of over $1.1 billion. As we said, there is plenty of reason to want to move forward, and as long as they continue to bring forth an action-packed well-rounded film with A-list talent, we’re pretty sure the movie going public will continue to show up.

Spectre is scheduled to be released on November 6, 2015.
