Adrian Beltre and Elvis Andrus have a long history of joking around with each other. This time, Andrus’ joke nearly gave his teammate a heart attack.

In case you are familiar with the history of Adrian Beltre, he hates when people touch his head. No one really knows why this is, but it’s just a well-known fact. One guy that loves to poke the bear is Texas Rangers‘ teammate Elvis Andrus who constantly pushes the limit when it comes to grazing the scalp of Beltre.

After a home run on Thursday afternoon against the Oakland Athletics, Beltre returned to the dugout as he usually does, greeted by teammates with high-fives and helmet taps, when something happened that made Beltre go from zero to sixty in an instant.

Andrus made that one sneaky attack as he ran quietly behind Beltre, snatched his helmet, patted him on the head and ran off. Multiple players have gotten the opportunity to tap Beltre on the head and live; Andrus and Miguel Cabrera are two of those players.

I think it’s safe to say that Adrus nearly got his teammate killed after Beltre turned around with his fist ready to strike. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a grown man crumple in fear like that — especially a grown man who plays a professional sport.

Like I said before, no one really knows why Beltre doesn’t like getting his head touched. Heck, he doesn’t even let his kids feel his fro.

One thing is for sure, however, this Andrus-Beltre feud won’t end any time soon.
