Karl-Anthony Towns would love to play with New York Knicks

Kentucky C Karl-Anthony Towns believes that it would be a little special to play in New York.
Kentucky held a press conference on Thursday afternoon to announce that over half of the team has declared for the NBA Draft. The name that stood out the most is Karl-Anthony Towns. Towns is expected to be taken within the first couple of selections in the NBA draft. The team with the first selection will likely choose between Towns and Duke C Jahlil Okafor.
The New York Knicks hold a lottery pick and the best chances to select first overall. They would love to be able to make their selection with the top pick in the draft. Their fate is in the hands of the lottery though. If they were able to make their selection with one of the top 2 selections, it would open up the opportunity to add Okafor or Towns onto their roster.
Towns loves the possibility of becoming a Knicks players. He grew up a New York Knicks fan and shared his thoughts on how special it would be for him.
“I think it’s documented I was a Knicks fan growing up. It’s just one of those things. I always liked them. It obviously would be a little special” to play for the Knicks, but hope is to “start something special” wherever he’s drafted – Karl-Anthony Towns via Brett Dawson.
The Knicks could use help all across the roster. They are sitting at the bottom of the standings with their current roster. Any added talent to the team will be welcomed. Carmelo Anthony will return from his injury and will be able to bring offense onto the court when he returns.
Adding Towns onto the roster would bring a post presence in the middle on offense. He has good post moves that he will be able to bring that into the NBA. On defense, Towns would protect the rim and would not allow any easy buckets. He would become an immediate impact player in New York.
The team would need to find a way to integrate Towns and Andrea Bargnani together, but that should not be a reason for the team to hesitate on selecting Towns. Towns has too much talent to pass up and the Knicks need talented basketball players on their roster.
The waiting game begins for the NBA lottery. The season will be wrapping up in the next week and the Knicks did what they needed to do to get the best opportunity to draft at the top. Now they just need to hope they get some love in that lottery. Then the possibility of adding Towns and making that dream come true would be known for all.
