AT&T’s touching Jordan Spieth Masters commercial (video)
AT&T just released a touching commercial giving tribute to Jordan Spieth’s incredible journey to a historic 2015 Masters performance.
At 21-years old, Jordan Spieth became the second-youngest player to win the coveted Masters Championship on Sunday, and tying Tiger Woods‘ record for lowest 72-hole score in the process. Many players way older than he is would have celebrated in dramatic fashion. Woods particularly is known for his high-energy fist pumps, which he put on full display of when he became the youngest Masters champion back in 1997.

That is simply not Jordan Spieth’s style. The young man from Dallas has enjoyed plenty of success during his brief career, despite not becoming a household name until this past weekend. After all, he did have two U.S. Amateur championships and the 2013 PGA Tour Rookie of the Year award to his name before he could legally take his first sip of alcohol.
Yet somehow, despite all of these accolades, Spieth has remained incredibly humble every step of the way. Perhaps that is why AT&T’s commercial tribute to the rising star is so fitting.
It is not filled with flashy highlights or swarms of crowds cheering his name. Instead it shows a 14-year old Jordan Spieth at Augusta National, playing a practice round with no crowds to watch, just a dream of one day being honored with the green jacket. The video culminates with Spieth sinking his final put on Sunday and taking in the moment, finally reaching the goal he set out to reach seven years earlier.
AT&T’s commercial is extremely simple and never accentuates Spieth as a superstar. It merely chronicles his journey to achieving a lifetime dream that finally became a reality three days ago. I cannot imagine golf’s gracious new superstar wanting it any other way.
