4. The conclusion to Linsanity?

During the 2011-12 season, something inexplicable happened to an unknown point guard who got picked up off waivers by the New York Knicks due to injuries. Jeremy Lin got his first start as a point guard in the NBA and for a span of about 4 weeks, completely turned a mediocre Knicks squad, into the team to beat in the second half of the season. Scoring triple doubles left and right, being virtually unstoppable in isolation situations, and just simply balling out nightly, this was quite a fun time. Unfortunately, Lin later got injured and could not finish out the season.

People knew what he was capable of and hopes were high for Jeremy Lin that one day he could return to this caliber of play and Linsanity would return once again. He would no longer have to sit on the waiver wire and wait for a couple injuries to happen at the same time to get a chance to play in the NBA. The league saw the potential in this short point guard who came out of nowhere.

So he got another shot at playing point guard in the NBA with the Houston Rockets. When that didn’t work out he landed in LA, where he would play next to Kobe Bryant and company in the 2014-15 season.

He has been okay this year, averaging over 15 points a game while limiting his turnovers to three. I think it is safe to say, the magical time period that was Linsanity is finally over. The hope that remains that the young point guard will find the same success he once had in New York is probably delusional. What remains is a solid starter that can lead an offense to victory, and there is nothing wrong with that.
