5. player. 66.
The wild card in this scenario is the Phoenix Suns.

Everyone and their brother knows that the Suns love point guards and running a two-point guard system.

The team has Eric Bledsoe on the roster and he took a step forward in his first year as the point guard for the Suns despite the struggles of the team.

The team also traded for Brandon Knight at the trade deadline. While, at first glance Rondo doesn’t make sense, Knight is a restricted free agent and if the Suns don’t want to overpay Knight, they could go the free agency route for another point guard and a proven commodity in Rondo.

The Rondo connection could be made in the desert as well.

Suns general manager Ryan McDonough was in Boston when Rondo was drafted and McDonough had a big part in drafting him.

Rondo could slide right into the Suns lineup next to Bledsoe and the Suns suddenly have two point guards in the starting lineup again.

However, one of the biggest problems for the Suns in 2014-2015 was team chemistry. What was a strength the season before dissipated as players struggled with technical fouls and losses.

The parting of Goran Dragic at the trade deadline also left a black eye on the season.

The Suns might rather stay away from any possible chemistry issues. Still, Rondo would add a great deal of experience to the roster and McDonough running the show in Phoenix, knows what Rondo can bring.

If any team is a dark horse to watch in this situation, it’s definitely the Suns. If contract talks with Brandon Knight don’t pan out, then could definitely enter the running.
. Southwest Division. Western Conference. Phoenix Suns
