team. 2. What a difference a week makes! The Twins were possibly the worst team in baseball during the opening days of the season, but rebounded a bit this past week. They’re still a far way away from being considered a good team, but they are no longer the worst. Still, this team has far to go. Joe Mauer and his 2 extra base hits are leading the team with a .269 average and the team as a whole owns just 8 home runs. Additionally, the pitching has been horrendous with a 4.98 ERA and a 1.45 WHIP.. . Previous: +4th. Minnesota Twins. 26

. Previous: -1th. Rangers Texas. 27. team. 95. Prince Fielder has looked exceedingly healthy and productive thus far, but you’d hope that the power would start kicking in a bit. Unfortunately, he’s the only Rangers hitter with qualifying at-bats to put up a batting average over .237 at this stage. Ross Detwiler need to be moved out of the rotation quickly, but otherwise, the pitching in Texas has found a way to get past the injuries, with Nick Martinez (20 IP, 1 ER) capitalizing on his chance.

. Previous: -8th. Miami Marlins. 28. team. 82. The Marlins have been this season’s biggest disappointment, and there is really no sign that things are getting better in Miami. The additions on offense haven’t led to more production, and the most troubling aspect is the startling 38/119 BB-to-K ratio. Mat Latos has been a complete bust and Henderson Alvarez is having his elbow examined. No good news in Miami.

29. team. 6. Everyone knew that age was catching up to the Phillies, but no one knew it would hit them like a ton of bricks. Chase Utley (.109) and Ryan Howard (.209) have been downright dreadful to watch, with both looking like the game has passed them by. It’s hard to overcome a 4.73 starters ERA when you’re only scoring 2.78 runs per game.. . Previous: -2th. Philadelphia Phillies

team. 76. Combine the fact that only one team has scored less runs and no team has given up more runs and you would have an apt description of the Brewers season. That’s not likely to get much better with Jonathan Lucroy headed to the DL and Scooter Gennett cutting his finger in the shower. Oh, and two players (Joey Votto and Nelson Cruz) have either equaled or surpassed the home run total for the entire Brewers team.. . Previous: -1th. Milwaukee Brewers. 30
