Benedict Cumberbatch is rumored to appear in Netflix’s Iron Fist as Doctor Strange

If you have been in the dark a little bit lets catch up, because Netflix has been moving quickly with Marvel to put out a host of shows culminating in a miniseries of multiple super heros called ‘The Defenders.’
The first superhero show they have released is Daredevil. Go watch it if you haven’t, it is tremendous.
The next superhero that is getting their own show appears to be Iron Fist. To be clear Iron Fist has yet to start filming, and Iron Fist does not have it’s star quite figured out yet, but there are already rumors leaking out that Benedict Cumberbatch may make an appearance as Dr. Strange.
As fans of the comic books know Dr. Strange is the lead member of The Defenders but what story and route Marvel takes is up to them and could be independent. If the Benedict Cumberbatch rumor is true, which it has not been confirmed just yet, this seems like a huge get for the series. It appears these TV shows are going to have a arch like the avengers. It also has a lot of talented people behind the scenes cleaning all this up and making good on the show thus far.
Dr. Strange won’t just be making his appearance in Iron Fist and The Defenders, he is also slated to have his own movie coming out around the same time as The Defenders, late 2016. Benedict Cumberbatch is confirmed to be Dr. Strange in that movie, but it wasn’t realized that he would be making cameo’s prior the movie.
Luke Cage is rumored to also be getting his own show on Netflix, it is presumed with information thus far that Daredevil, Iron First, and Luke Cage are going to be in “the defenders” miniseries. I’m sure all parties are interested in just who they have in store for Iron First.
