The NFL Draft has been all about who will trade up to the No. 2 pick and take Marcus Mariota, as that’s where the draft will start and that pick will dictate what happens there on down. There have been rumors of the Browns, Chargers and Eagles all moving up to the No. 2 pick, but there is a surprise team that has entered the conversation that could shock everyone if they are able to swing a deal.

According to Ian Rapoport from NFL Network, the Chicago Bears are talking with the Tennessee Titans about moving up to the No. 2 overall pick in the draft. Naturally, this has brought the Bears into the fold for Marcus Mariota and replacing Jay Cutler with him.

If the Bears are the team who trade up to take Marcus Mariota with the No. 2 overall pick, the internet will explode. Jay Cutler is going to be someone who the Bears need to figure out if they want to move forward with Cutler in charge. If they land Mariota though, that could be a game changer, as the Bears taking a quarterback with the second pick in the draft is not only unheard of for the franchise but is something that would surely mean the end of Jay Cutler.

Cutler drew interest from the Tennessee Titans when it was rumored he was hitting free agency in 2014, but the Bears hung onto him and the Titans didn’t get a crack at him. Packaging the No. 7 overall pick and Jay Cutler to move up and take Mariota could be enough to get a trade done that makes the Titans happy.

It still seems unlikely that the Titans find a trade they like that convinces them to move back. Basically, the Titans would be trading Mariota for Cutler — and old quarterback — and the No. 7 pick in the draft. That’s not terrible but it’s hardly as good as some of the deals that the Titans have reportedly been getting.
