On Thursday night the St. Louis Rams went out and shocked a lot of people when they took running back Todd Gurley with the No. 10 pick in the first round of the 2015 NFL Draft. Now not only were some fans shocked, but starting running back Zac Stacy was not pleased at all, actually going so far as demanding a trade.
But what about the other running back on the roster? You know, that guy that the Rams drafted last year, Tre Mason out of Auburn?
Well, he doesn’t seem too happy with the organization challenging his skills either.
While his reaction comes a bit later than Stacy’s, Friday morning Mason sent out a simple tweet that seemed to question whether or not the Rams organization has faith in him.
So from the responses that we’ve seen the past 12 hours or so from both Stacy and Mason, it seems as if Jeff Fisher did a pretty good job of angering his backfield. When the pick of Gurley was made, we all wondered how dangerous this three-headed monster could really be. Now? Well, seems like everyone needs to get on the same page, quickly.
Unlike Stacy, though, Mason better get used to it, because he’s not going anywhere in the foreseeable future.
Now of course, there is the chance that Mason could have been talking about the fans doubting him as well, which should be taken into consideration.
If anything, this should be a fun competition to watch.
