7.Todd Gurley-RB-St. Louis Rams

With slightly more long-term upside but also way more fanfare, it remains to be seen how much of a sleeper Todd Gurley will be as he starts his rookie year with the Rams.  Gurley is coming off a major knee injury and probably won’t be healthy until the second half of the season.

However, if you can stash him in the last round or two of your draft, Gurley could be a huge pickup since Coach Jeff Fisher loves having a versatile, power-runner like Gurley could pan out to be. Gurley will have to contend with Tre Mason and Zac Stacy for work (unless one is traded), but both of those backs lack the power and upside of Gurley as a feature back.

If you do draft Gurley, you’re going to need depth alongside him, since like Mason and Stacy in the last few years, he won’t really be a fantasy option until the second half of the season.  His upside is huge if you can grab him late as a sleeper, but don’t overpay for him either. As we get closer to fantasy football draft day, we’ll have a better picture of his health and his average draft position, so stay tuned as that time approaches to get a better read on whether Gurley is a value to consider.
