NBA Playoffs 2015: 10 reasons Cavaliers will beat Bulls
By Josh Hill
Cavaliers Will Get Physical With Meek Bulls
The Milwaukee Bucks shoved the Chicago Bulls around. Milwaukee. Michael Carter-Williams and Jason Kidd. Those are two names that hardly strike fear into the hearts of anyone and the Bulls allowed themselves to be pushed around so badly that it all culminated in a blowout win over a bad team in Game 6 of that opening series.
Cleveland is not a bad team, and they know how to be physical on levels that would make the Bucks blush. Kendrick Perkins is basically on the team for the sole purpose of gooning it up like a hockey enforcer does, while J.R. Smith is not afraid to tie your shoes together and backhand you “on accident”.
Lest we forget that the entire league is consistently physical with LeBron James, from Evan Turner’s hard foul in the Boston series to Josh McRoberts punching him in the throat last year against Charlotte. Chicago won’t play the pushovers, but the Celtics gave the Cavaliers a much more physical series than the Bucks gave the Bulls, and it might not take much to get inside the heads of Taj Gibson, Joakim Noah and other hot-tempered players that Chicago can’t have flying off the handles in this series.
Bulls Response: The Cavaliers have quite the load of physical players. I know I wouldn’t want to go up against Kendrick Perkins in the post. And JR Smith proved that if you wrong one of his teammates, you’re going to take a smack to the noggin. But when the Bulls play the Cavs, all weak play goes out the window. The Bulls love playing LeBron James. Whenever they do, the intensity is high, and no one is afraid to throw a few elbows. The physicality of this game, while normally would give the Cavs an advantage, means nothing in the playoffs.
