Timofey Mozgov swatted away a Joakim Noah shot with authority in Game 1 of the Chicago Bulls-Cleveland Cavaliers series.

The Cleveland Cavaliers had a rough go in the first quarter of Game 1 in their second round series with the Chicago Bulls. Tom Thibodeau’s squad came out with plenty of energy and completely dominated the Cavs in the game’s opening 12 minutes.

However, there was at least one moment in the first quarter where the Cavaliers seemed to have some life.

Cavs center Timofey Mozgov swatted away a Joakim Noah shot with authority at the 7:18 mark of the quarter.

Take a look at Mozgov’s big block below:

Mozgov’s defense will certainly play a huge role in this series against the Bulls’ tough front line, so a play like this certainly has to be encouraging for the Cavs.

Still, Mozgov’s defense wasn’t nearly enough to help the Cavs slow down the Bulls in the first quarter, as Chicago put up 27 points. The Cavs absolutely need their other top defenders to step up or they could be in trouble and drop this game.

Mozgov averaged 9.7 points, 7.3 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per game in the regular season.
