Cleveland Cavaliers playoff skit parodies domestic violence (Video)

The Cleveland Cavaliers won the game against the Bulls last night but just lost America with a disgusting parody of domestic violence.

LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers are trying to avoid as many distractions as they can on their way to the NBA Finals — but they can thank their dopey marketing department for what looks to be a major distraction.

The Cleveland Cavaliers are becoming the talk of Thursday not because of their dominating win over the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday night, but because of a horridly detached parody of domestic violence that was produced to hype up fans and troll the Bulls.

In what probably started out as an innocent idea of a husband giving his wife grief for being a Bulls fan, ended up as a chilling parody of domestic violence.

Just watch — and try to figure out the thought process.

We’ve never wished for the wisdom of Don Draper so hard before.

America has been looking for a reason to turn the Cavaliers into the villains, and this is what will do that. How much paste was eaten before this became a good idea to not only produce but to show to thousands of fans in a stadium? Usually, you leave it to the players to take the fans out of a game, not the video board and a stupid video.

To be fair — as fair as we can be with something this misguided — the video is a parody of a healthcare commercial that uses less aggressive violence as it’s payoff.

The Cavs video just isn’t funny. The payoff is something we read from the start, but the way he throws her down, the acting is terrible and the general detachment from the world we live in today makes this one of the worst videos ever.

It’s not just the payoff that he throws her to the ground. It’s that violence is used to change his wife’s mind from being a Bulls fan to being a Cavs fan.

Oh look! She’s not a Bulls fan anymore.

Go Cavs.

Someone needs counseling after thinking this was a good idea. Sure, it’s innocent but it goes off the rails very quickly and given the culture we live in today it’s not even remotely close to a good idea.

The knuckles are dragging low on this one, and while it may not be the worst parody of domestic violence, the fact that such a phrase is your only defense is proof of how misguided this video was. Domestic violence isn’t funny, and it’s high time we cap all the glue sticks in Cleveland because someone has been licking far too many of them.
