All he does is…everything

Public perception is a difficult thing to alter. Blake Griffin is having an immaculate postseason thus far. I know, I know it’s only been eight games, but I do not care! It’s coming to the point where I’m starting to believe that hilarious Kia commercials are giving Blake super powers.

How else do you explain what he’s done over the course of these first eight games? He’s never performed anywhere close to this level in the postseason and while he had a career high in assists this season (5.3), he also posted a career low in rebounds (7.6) so there was really no indication of an all-around statistical explosion to the extent that we have seen.

Do I miss the endless dunks and posters, sure I do. Do I miss the rush of “OMG did you see that?!” texts I used to get from friends after Blake Mozgov’d someone; damn right I do. Do I miss Blake getting ripped constantly by people for only being able to dunk — NO, not at all.

In his first 30 postseason games Griffin posted four double doubles and his triple double column read “zilch” (look it up!). He has posted a double double in all eight games this postseason and is the only player with a triple double as well (he actually has 3!).

While all of these stats are cool to oogle over, players are remembered for winning in the postseason and Griffin had some strong words for us all to adhere to.

“I’m not here for a history lesson — I’m here to WIN.” — Griffin, Kia Commercial
