The world of celebrity is a world full of vanity, as 40 is the new 20 and size zero waists still aren’t enough to make people feel good about themselves. But every once in a while we get a celebrity who isn’t afraid to be who they are, and right now the latest member of that class is rapper Fetty Wap.

You may know Fetty Wap from his hit song ‘Trap Queen’, which is propelling the young rapper to the upper stratosphere of the rap game.

What you may not know is the reason the rapper only has one eye. Since his hit single began blowing up and Fetty Wap started becoming a household name in some circles, rumors have begun circulating as to just how he lost his left eye.

TMZ caught up with Fetty Wap and asked him about it so the air could be forever cleared. Rather than being shot in the face with a shotgun, which Fetty mentions as the craziest rumor he’s heard about his eye, the rapper explains that he lost his left eye to glaucoma at just six months old.

Don’t feel bad for not knowing that, as not even Fetty knew the whole story about his eye until TMZ stopped him.

See, now that’s all cleared up and we don’t have to keep spreading around rumors that don’t even make sense.

Fetty Wap not covering up his eye is something that makes him even more likable than he already comes off as being. He’s a charismatic young kid on the rise in the game that he loves, and he’s not ashamed of being who he is.

He’s also not the only rapper that has to explain why they only have one eye. Bushwick Bill from the the Geto Boys lost his eye after getting shot on accident during a drunken stupor while Slick Rick covered up his missing eye with a now infamous eye patch during the height of his success in the 80s and 90s.

That’s not bad company to be in if you’re Fetty, as both rappers are titans of the game — and Fetty has the grit, grime and determination as well as the talent of both.
