5. Houston Rockets

The Rockets missed out on getting another big-time power forward last summer in Chris Bosh and it would be sweet redemption for Rockets general manager Daryl Morey and the organization if they could land Aldridge.

Pairing Aldridge with this year’s MVP runner-up James Harden and star center Dwight Howard would make for a deadly Big Three and would easily make Houston a more serious title threat and one of the four best teams heading into next season. The Rockets currently don’t have enough cap space to get Aldridge unless they dumped a couple of contracts to make room for him, plus would Aldridge want to go from the No. 1 option to possibly the No. 3 option? I’m not so sure about that. If you’re a star player, then you want star player responsibility and they usually relish in it.

Going to Houston would be a gamble for Aldridge when it comes to less shot attempts and reduced production but as far as an excellent long-term situation that could involve a ton of winning, then the Rockets would be a tough landing spot to pass up.
