player. 94. <p>Jeremy Roenick played 20 years in the NHL after the Chicago Blackhawks spent the No. 8 pick in the 1988 draft on the Boston native. He scored 18 points in a 20-game audition before he joined the Hawks on a full-time basis the following year when he scored 66 points in 78 games to finish third in the Calder. The next three years would be the finest of Roenick’s career.</p> <p>In 1990-1991 the 21-year-old Roenick scored 41 goals and had 94 points for the President’s Trophy winners. The next year, Roenick had his first 50-goal season with 53, including a league-leading 13 game-winning goals and 103 points to finish fifth in the Hart and finished ninth in the Selke. Roenick followed that up with a second 50-goal season and a career-high 107 points as the Blackhawks went to the Stanley Cup Final in 1992.</p> <p>Despite the loss to the Penguins in the Cup Final, Roenick bounced back with another 107-point season the next year, but only played 99 more games in Chicago after that year before he was traded to the Phoenix Coyotes where he had 351 points in five seasons. Roenick would sign with the Philadelphia Flyers after that and scored 173 points in 216 games. J.R. finished played one year with the Kings, another with the Coyotes and finished his career with the San Jose Sharks where he became the third American to score 500 goals.</p> <p>For his career, Roenick’s 513 goals and 1,216 points rank third all-time among American-born players.</p>.
