Mike Conley’s injury list in the playoffs was insane
Mike Conley sustained an insane amount of injuries during his team’s playoff run.
Even hockey players would be impressed with the list of injuries Mike Conley compiled during his team’s playoffs run.
Conley, point guard for the Memphis Grizzlies, revealed his list of injuries to a reporter for the Memphis Commercial Appeal following his team’s second round loss to Golden State. The list he gave is a long one.
That list practically includes every major body part on both sides of the body. Not to mention, it does not even include the two sprained ankles that Conley suffered earlier this season, which the Memphis Commercial Appeal reports are still not 100 percent healed.
Conley’s list of injuries reads like an NHL player’s following a deep run through the Playoffs. All he’s missing is a collapsed lung a-la Patrice Burgeron of the Boston Bruins following the 2013 Stanley Cup Finals.
He may not have helped the Grizzlies get past the Golden State Warriors, but no one can claim that Conley is not a fierce competitor. He’s sure to earn the respect of his teammates and other NBA players, at the very least.
Luckily for Conley, it’s not all bad news. Reportedly, the Grizzlies are interested in signing the point guard to an extension. Conley, who is set to become a free agent in 2016, would figure to draw significant interest on the open market. The Grizzlies are hoping to avoid that all together, especially given that
Hopefully the prospect of a lucrative extension or a big new contract will help Conley heal a bit quicker.
