27. team. 96. I don’t think there is anyone in baseball that thought the A’s were going to be this bad. Of course, they did a massive sell-down this past winter, but Billy Beane always seems to get the better of those deals. However, the struggles may lead Oakland to become early sellers, and they have some huge chips in Ben Zobrist, Josh Reddick, Scott Kazmir and more.. . Previous: -1th. Oakland Athletics

6. Last week’s cellar dwellers have won seven of their last 10, and perhaps at just the right time. Ryan Howard’s resurgence (12 for 27 over last seven) may help the Phillies move their over-priced slugger at a time when some teams are starving for offense.. . Previous: +2nd. Previous: -2th. Colorado Rockies. 29. team. 108. What a precipitous fall for the Rockies, who have gone 7-21 since winning seven of their first 10 this season. As is always the case in Colorado, pitching has been the downfall, with the Rockies posting a league worst 4.94 ERA and ranking 26th in slugging surrendered. Life isn’t going to get any easier with Coors Field ranking as the 7th easiest park to score in this season..

It is tough to note that the pair of Matt Garza and Kyle Lohse have surrendered more home runs (18) that the pair of Adam Lind and Ryan Braun (17) have hit to lead the Brewers. In fact, Brewers pitchers have surrendered the second-most home runs in all of baseball at this point. Tough to win ballgames when the pitchers can’t keep the ball in the yard. .
