Nelson Cruz hits home run into the Rays’ Touch Tank
By Mike Dyce
Seattle Mariners slugger Nelson Cruz hit a home run against the Tampa Bay Rays that landed in the “Touch Tank” at Tropicana Field.
The Seattle Mariners are on the road taking on the Tamp Bay Rays in routine baseball play. During Wednesday’s game, something less than routine happened. Mariners slugger Nelson Cruz hit a home run, which he is known to do from time to time, but it landed in the Rays’ Touch Tank.
The Rays have a tank out in the outfield that has actual sting rays swimming around in it, this isn’t a recreational pool like the Arizona Diamondbacks or Jacksonville Jaguars have in their stadiums.
For those of you worried about the rays in the tank, don’t worry, they fished the ball out with a net. For those of you that weren’t worried, you should’ve been, these are live animals.
It also has been a couple of years since this happened and it was only the 4th time one has landed there.
