Sleeper Options

Pelfrey has been solid to start the season going 4-1 in his nine starts with a 2.77 ERA.  He only has 26 strikeouts in his 52 innings, but he can definitely be useful if you need a good start with quality innings and can afford fewer strikeouts.  Pelfrey has three quality starts in his last four outings including holding tonight’s opponent, the Red Sox, to just one run on five hits in seven innings in his last start.. Minnesota Twins. @ Red Sox. Mike Pelfrey. 13. player. 2

player. 102. Richards is in a good matchup against the Rays tonight, but he has gotten knocked around by the Padres and Red Sox in his last two outings allowing ten runs on 17 hits in 12.2 innings.  He should return to form, but his recent form keeps him from rising any higher in today’s starting pitcher rankings.. Los Angeles Angels. vs Rays. Garrett Richards. 12

17. Wood has turned in three straight quality outings and back-to-back wins improving his record to 3-2 on the season.  In those two wins, he has allowed a total of three runs on 14 hits in 14 innings while striking out seven.  Wood takes on the D-Backs tonight in a good matchup, so look for him to give another plus outing tonight.. Atlanta Braves. @ Diamondbacks. Alex Wood. 11. player

Ryan Vogelsong. 10. player. 31. Vogelsong’s season has been a tale of two months. April was the worst of times as the veteran righty went 0-2 with a 9.31 ERA, but May was the best of times as he went 4-0 with a 1.14 ERA.  Look for him to continue his momentum as the calendar turns to June since he’s at home (1-0, 1.64 ERA this season) against the Pirates tonight. Vogelsong is the top streaming option for today and he is unowned in almost 75% of ESPN leagues.. San Francisco Giants. vs Pirates

9. Hammel has gone at least seven innings in each of his last four starts and had a solid 2.57 ERA in his five May starts while going 1-1.  He has to go on the road tonight, which has caused him trouble in the past this season, but most of his worst starts have come in day games.  At night, he has gone 3-1 with a 1.98 ERA and I think he’s a solid sleeper option especially since his strikeout rate has picked up recently as well.. Chicago Cubs. @ Marlins. Jason Hammel. 9. player
