Bryce Harper takes selfie with phone that was thrown at him (Photo)

Bryce Harper is a polarizing figure in baseball, but the power of taking a selfie might help war fans up to his often grizzled exterior.
When Bryce Harper isn’t getting ejected from games — sometimes for no reason at all — he’s polarizing baseball fans by being a bro in a legion of traditionalists. If there’s a group of people amore allergic to change than baseball die-hards, we have yet to meet them.
When it comes to conflicting with the narrative of baseball, die-hards will foam at the mouth about the beauty of the national pastime. That’s what makes Bryce Harper an anti-hero, as he’s a guy die-hards have to love for his production but love to hate for being a bro.
Tuesday night was a beautiful portrait of why people both love and hate Bryce Harper.
While in the outfield seats at National’s Park, a fan threw her phone at Harper who proceeded to not give it up to security, but take a selfie with it.
Bro hard, Bryce Harper, bro hard.
Harper then threw the phone back up to the fan, who has tonight’s viral photo of the evening. It’s one thing to have a phone thrown at you, but it’s another to take a selfie and give it back. This could be opening a Pandora’s Box of sorts that invites more fans to throw phones at players in an effort to replace autographs from athletes with selfies of them.
Still, it’s hard to hate Harper when he does stuff like this. Sure, he’s a bro, but when he bros out it’s fantastic. We want more of this Bryce Harper and less of this one:
Actually, let’s find a happy medium between both.
