7. Michael Cuddyer-OF-New York Mets: The Mets and Padres play in one of the later games in the rubber game of their three-game set.  New York will go up against San Diego ace James Shields, but don’t expect Michael Cuddyer to shy away from the challenge especially give his 7-17 (.412) history against Shields with two doubles, a homer, and five RBI.

6. Ryan Howard-1B-Philadelphia Phillies: After getting a hard-fought walk win last night the Phillies send their act to the mound tonight as Cole Hamels faces off with Mike Leake.  One source of run support for Hamels should be Ryan Howard who is 6-15 (.400) in his career against Leake with two home runs and four RBI.

5. Denard Span-OF-Washington Nationals: After splitting a double-header yesterday, the Nationals and Blue Jays wrap up their series tonight as the Nats face veteran Mark Buehrle.  The Nationals hitter with the most career success against Buehrle is Denard Span who is 12-33 (.364) against him in the past with a double, two home runs (which is a lot for him) and five RBI.

4. Dustin Pedroia-2B-Boston Red Sox: If you are playing a format that includes this afternoon’s game, Dustin Pedroia is a must-own based on his hot bat and his history against today’s Game 1 starter for the Twins, Phil Hughes.  Pedroia is 13-38 (.342) against Hughes with three doubles, an impressive five home runs and 14 RBI.
