MLB: Major League Baseball uniform power rankings
- Home Cap: 28th
- Home Jersey: 20th
- Road Cap: 28th
- Road Jersey: 26th
The Good: Pinstripes are rare in Major League Baseball today (only six teams wear pinstripes regularly), but the Colorado Rockies have embraced the classic look since the club debuted as an expansion team in 1993. Also, in my opinion there are 28 really good primary home caps in in big leagues, and just because the Rockies have the 28th best lid, it’s still a proper one.
The Bad: Purple isn’t traditionally a baseball color, and it looks kind of funny on almost any sports team not affiliated with LSU. But, for a 1990s-born franchise that uses a very ‘90s purple as a primary team color, the Rockies actually look pretty good. I don’t even hate the purple alternate jersey, but the black sleeveless vest with black sleeves makes no sense to me.
Also, the team’s solid purple batting helmet is too much purple. It may be (slightly) better than the two-toned black and purple helmet the team used a few years ago (similar to the one the Rangers had) but it’s not much better. I actually think it’s the worst looking helmet in the big leagues. If the team switched to a black helmet, they’d rank a little higher on this list.
