The Cincinnati Reds come up with a pretty cool idea to celebrate the team’s history at the MLB All-Star Game.

Every team that hosts the MLB All-Star Game features a certain theme that relates to the history of the franchise or city. The Cincinnati Reds decided to go with mustaches, paying homage to their classic and creepy mascot Mr. Redlegs.

A month ahead of the All-Star Game, the Reds are going one step forward. The city will feature 20 separate giant mustache statues at various locations as part of the celebration.

If you ever wanted to see an 850-pound mustache statue, this might be your best bet. There have been similar promotions in the past such as smaller versions of the Statue of Liberty when the All-Star Game was in New York, but this might be the coolest one yet.

Perhaps a mustache theme would be more appropriate for Portland or Seattle in today’s day and age. But the Reds did an excellent job combining novelty and baseball history with this one.

The Midsummer Classic takes place in the Queen City on July 14. Meanwhile, the Reds are scuffling at 28-33, and could sell off stars like Johnny Cueto and Aroldis Chapman shortly after the game.
