Money In The Bank Contract Ladder Match: Neville vs. Sheamus vs. Randy Orton vs. Roman Reigns vs. Kane vs. Dolph Ziggler vs. Kofi Kingston

The Money In The Bank Contract Ladder Match doesn’t have much build to it regarding storyline other than the fact that all the competitors want to capture the briefcase. That doesn’t take much imagination to put together, but it always works effectively.

Roman Reigns and Kane’s involvement certainly create some intrigue as The Authority attempts to keep Reigns away from the title. The Authority put Reigns through three matches for his spot in the Ladder Match on the June 1 RAW, but Reigns won all three and is still competing. I wouldn’t expect that storyline to die once the bell rings for this match, though.

Reigns is the obvious pick to walk away from the PPV with the briefcase, but he’s not my pick. He seems like the bait for a swerve of sorts in this match—bait that I’m not going to bite on.

Dolph Ziggler is the man I have pegged to walk away from this match with the briefcase. WWE is always just a step away from putting him in the main event, so there’s no worry in that regard. The biggest reason I have him winning, though, is his recent alignment with Lana. There have been rumors circulating for weeks that WWE intends to make Lana the female face of the company in the near future. Having Ziggler capture the Money In The Bank Contract is a great way to start getting the spotlight more on Lana.

John Cena vs. Kevin Owens

Cena and Owens put on one of the best matches that we’ve seen in months at Elimination Chamber. Owens eventually came out victorious in his first ever match on the main roster, but couldn’t resist burying Cena the next night on RAW.

After a clinic in the ring at the Chamber PPV, RAW the night after held one of the best dueling promo segments that the WWE Universe has seen in months. Owens talked about his motivations for wanting another shot at Cena, saying that his son still idolizes Cena over him, which infuriates him.

Meanwhile, Cena shot back at Owens. While Owens mocked “SuperCena” and the “Never Give Up” mentality, Cena said that “Never Give Up” were the three words that described Owens and his journey to where he is now. There is palpable bad blood in this storyline and it’s working wonderfully.

Owens should be the winner of this match, much like he was at Elimination Chamber. However, it wouldn’t surprise me if WWE decided to give Cena the win back to prolong the feud with a third match between the two competitors. As for my final prediction, I’m going with Cena, but with some shenanigans—possibly a disqualification—leading to the finish and the result.
