Mychal and Klay Thompson

Though his career is young, Klay Thompson has already solidified his spot (along with his dad) as the best NBA father/son duo. In only four years he has lodged himself in the discussion for best shooting guard in the league. And alongside Steph Curry, is one half of the NBA’s best backcourt. This past season, en route to Golden State’s first championship in 40 years, Thompson recorded career highs in points, assists and steals (21.7/2.9/1.1).

Mychal was the first overall draft pick in 1978 out of Minnesota. After being named to the All-NBA Rookie First team and playing seven seasons for Portland, he made his way to the Los Angeles Lakers during the 1986-87 season. Though he would only start one game during his first two seasons with the team, Thompson proved himself a valuable role player off the bench to help ignite the Showtime Lakers to consecutive championships. He was also the fourth No. 1 overall pick on those Laker teams (Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Magic Johnson and James Worthy). His career averages are 13.7 points, 7.4 rebounds, 1.1 blocks per game.
