Archie Manning/Peyton, Eli Manning

There are arguments to be had that Peyton Manning is the greatest quarterback in NFL history, so let’s just run down some of the numbers really quick:

  • First overall draft pick
  • Super Bowl MVP
  • Most career TD passes
  • Most TD passes in a season
  • Most passing yards in a season
  • Most career playoff passing yards
  • Tied for most TDs thrown by a rookie

And the list goes on

Scoot on down to Eli and he’s casually strolling through with a first overall selection, two Super Bowl wins and two Super Bowl MVPs of his own.

Add it all up and Archie Manning sired five Super Bowl appearances, three wins and three Super Bowl MVPs. Talk about championship genes. Only having one of his sons on the list would’ve made him tops; both makes the Mannings untouchable.

As for Archie’s career, he was the bright spot on a routinely bad Saints team. He was the second overall pick in 1971, made two Pro Bowls and even captured the NFC Offensive Player of the Year in 1978.

  • Howie Long/Chris,Kyle Long
  • Clay Matthews Jr./Clay Matthews III
  • Kellen Winslow/Kellen Winslow II
