Prediction

Jimmie Johnson

Jimmie Johnson was absolutely flawless in his run this past week, yet somehow didn’t come away with the victory. Johnson may be one hell of a driver, but he is human like everyone else out on the track and isn’t absolved from mishaps and bad strategy.

The thing about Johnson though, is he always finds a way to bounce back. When he wrecked at Charlotte, he bounced back the next week and won at Dover. After falling just short in his bid to pick up his fifth win of the race last week, he will finally pick up the fifth win this week.

A fifth win would be huge momentum for Johnson, and have other drivers wondering what it will take to knock him off. It’s not too often that Johnson goes into a funk, and he’s been downright spectacular for 99% of the season. He’s won the Coke Zero 400 before, and it’s a track he runs great at.

If he wins this week, it will be five wins in 17 races. That’s almost a win in a 1/3rd of the races. A 10+ win season for Johnson doesn’t seem to crazy at this point all things considered.

Joey Logano may have won the first race at Daytona this season, and he will threaten again. This week however, it will be Johnson in victory lane, adding yet another victory to his win total and a trophy to his shelf.
