Free Agent Status: Unrestricted
Best Fits: Grizzlies, Knicks, Clippers

Unless the Grizzlies truly botch things, Gasol is coming back next season. What’s interesting to note here though is that no deal has been done yet and no one knows when one is going to come down for the big man.

It’s been a foregone conclusion that he’s going to return to Memphis in 2015-16 on a max deal, which may be hurting his value on the market. Teams know that that Grizzlies are not going to let Gasol get away from them, but that usually doesn’t keep hungry and desperate teams off the trail.

The Knicks have long been mentioned as being after Gasol, but they conceded basically from the start and ended up targeting Greg Monroe, DeAndre Jordan and Robin Lopez before signing the latter. Ditto for the Clippers, who never considered Gasol in their pursuit for a big man — something that might change now that they lost Jordan to the Mavs.
