Following the wild success that Marvel’s Daredevil series enjoyed on Netflix, everyone’s attention is now being paid to the upcoming second season of the superhero hit. Of course, all eyes are on the new characters that are rumored to be joining in on the fun, mainly The Punisher and Elektra. Well, we now know who will be gracing the Netflix screen as the superhero beauty.

According to a report from Variety, Elodie Yung has officially been cast in the role of the Elektra character, who again will be making her debut in the upcoming season of the show. Yung is most famous for her role in G.I. Joe:Retaliation. As we all remember –and may also want to forget– Jennifer Garner was the most recent actress to don the Elektra threads, both in the Daredevil movie with Ben Affleck and the spin-off film that came of it.

There’s no set time yet for Season 2 of Daredevil to hit our Netflix screens, but we do know that we’ll get to pick up where we left off from Season 1 some time in 2016. With the way the first season ended with Matt Murdock sending Wilson Fisk to prison once and for all, it’ll be rather interesting to see the dynamic these new characters bring to the series, especially Elektra. With how well the first season was received by fans and critics, there are some big shoes to fill with the next set of episodes.

But with the casting of Yung in the pivotal role of Elektra, as well as Jon Bernthal in the role of the Punisher, they’re really setting off on the right path here to bring in some more rave reviews.
