8. player. 102. . 1B/DH. Los Angeles Angels. Albert Pujols

At one point in his career with the St. Louis Cardinals, slugger Albert Pujols was considered the scariest hitter in baseball and was predicted to go down as one of the most feared of all time. While he has cooled off considerably from his days with the Cardinals, Pujols was still a monster at the plate and a guy who I would pay to see compete in a Home Run Derby in his prime.

From 2001-2012, Pujols never finished a season with less than 30 homers and recorded just one campaign with under 100 RBI in 2011 when he has 99.

There was a time when people believed that Pujols would go down as the greatest hitter in the history of the game with the perfect mixture of average and power, but he has not been the same ever since joining the Los Angeles Angels.

Just imagine Pujols in a Home Run Derby when he was hitting 40-plus home runs a year on a consistent basis. He came just after the steroid era and still hit the ball out of the park like a machine.

Do yourself a favor and just watch videos of his St. Louis days and try to keep your jaw off the floor.
