The Cincinnati Reds are going to be an interesting team to watch at the MLB trade deadline this year.

They are currently eight games below .500, and their window to climb back into the playoff race is all but closed. They do, however, have several talented players that would make a major impact for a contending team.

Outfielder Jay Bruce is one of these players, and for a team like the New York Yankees that are looking to preserve a division lead, he could prove to be a valuable addition.

Bruce does not produce jaw-dropping numbers, but he is the kind of player that can be relied upon to succeed in all facets of the game. He provides solid power numbers, decent speed on the base paths and a reliable glove in the field. And while his .251 batting average in 2015 is far from elite, he would certainly be an upgrade over the ailing 38-year old Carlos Beltran.

The Reds are reportedly shopping their right fielder, as their playoff aspirations appear dimmer each and every day. The biggest question will be whether or not the Yankees can put together an offer that is deemed worthy of the three-time All-Star.
