Trinidad & Tobago scored a game-tying goal in stoppage time of the Gold Cup while trash rained down on them from Mexico fans in the stands.

The Gold Cup has been thoroughly entertaining with some thrilling goals and dazzling displays of skill to build off of the momentum of the 2015 Women’s World Cup win.

Unfortunately there have been some lowlights in the tournament as well. On Wednesday night, Trinidad & Tobago and Mexico were playing a back-and-forth game that was keeping both fanbases on the edge of their seats.

A late goal from Mexico gave them the lead heading into stoppage time, when Trinidad & Tobago won a corner kick. As T&T’s Joevin Jones lined up to take the kick, Mexico fans in the stands threw all sorts of trash down onto the field. Jones looked around to see if anyone was going to do something about it, but instead took the kick which led to a game-tying goal.

How is that for a bit of karma served up fresh for the Mexico fans in attendance. Instead of distracting Trinidad & Tobago, you might have gifted the goal with your poor behavior affecting the team’s karma.

Fortunately, Jones wasn’t hurt.
