British Open delayed due to heavy winds
By Mike Dyce
The 2015 British Open Championship has been delayed because of heavy winds.
It looks like the British Open Championship won’t be finishing on Sunday afternoon as planned. Due to heavy winds at the St. Andrew’s golf course in Scotland, they’ve delayed the third round.
That means the final round will be pushed back to Monday.
So exactly how windy is it? So windy that if you didn’t mark your ball on a green it would likely get blown off, and that happened. Watch this ball roll away as Louis Oosthuizen steps up to take a putt.
“We shouldn’t have been out there,” Brendon Todd said, via the USA Today. “I three-putted the 16th, three-putted the 17th and then they suspended play. You really couldn’t putt when we were out there. You’re standing over a putt wondering if the ball’s going to roll into your putter. That’s an unnerving thought.
“I think there was an error made. We shouldn’t not have restarted.”
So windy that you cannot literally pour water into a cup.
We’ll see how they bounce back when play resumes.
