Gold Cup: Clint Dempsey hits penalty goal to give USMNT 5-0 lead (Video)
By Jack Crosby
Clint Dempsey scored his second goal of the day to give the USMNT a 5-0 lead in the Gold Cup against Cuba
So at this point it’s pretty safe to say that the United States Men’s National Team will be advancing to the semifinals of the Gold Cup. In the first half of the contest on Saturday against Cuba, Clint Dempsey and the crew scored four goals, making it pretty evident that this was a mismatch completely.
Well, the second half showed no signs of slowing down.
Having already scored a goal in the first half, Dempsey was awarded a penalty kick and of course he came through as only a United States captain would.
Right from the opening whistle this has been nothing but pure domination, and now more than ever in this tournament thus far, this United States team seems destined to eventually take the Gold Cup title when all is said and done.
The scary part is that there’s still a lot of the second half to play here, so there’s no telling what the final score in this one can end up being.
