MLB Trade Deadline: Top 5 hitters on the market
For once, Troy Tulowitzki isn’t the subject of the Colorado Rockies‘ trade rumors as outfielder Carlos Gonzalez, or CarGo, has assumed that position.

The 29-year-old left-handed hitter is coming off a season in 2014 in which he played just 70 games and posted some career-low numbers such as hits, at-bats, home runs (besides his rookie year), stolen bases and batting average.
Gonzalez has the talent to be one of the best hitters on the market and you could look around the league and find a handful of teams in contention looking for an outfielder. Cough, the Kansas City Royals, cough.
Usually it’s good ol’ Tulowitzki in this position, but the seven-year outfielder vet has been struggling a bit this year just as his entire team has.
Colorado is currently 39-51 and 12.5 games out of first place. There’s little to no chance of the Rockies coming back and winning the division, or even the wild card, so, therefore, selling some big names for young prospects is in order.
Although this team has a great core of solid hitters such as Tulowitzki, Nolan Arenado and Gonzalez, they’re looking to build for the future and these guys have not gotten the job done together.
Despite his 13 homers and 36 RBI, Gonzalez is likely headed out of town.
