DraftKings fantasy baseball picks-July 21 lineups
Turbo Lineup
SP-Michael Wacha-St. Louis Cardinals
SP-Vincent Velasquez-Houston Astros: Velasquez flashed some signs of potential in his first callup to the Astros rotation even though he went 0-1 with a 3.94 ERA. The Red Sox lineup is a mess right now, so he gets a great matchup as he returns from Double-A to get the start tonight. He had good swing-and-miss rate and will be in a good enough matchup to make him worth the value play tonight in the Turbo window.
C-Jonthan Lucroy-Milwaukee Brewers: Lucroy has hit safely in four of his last five games and is starting to come alive at the plate after a slow start. He connected on his third homer of the year on Saturday.
1B-Prince Fielder-Texas Rangers: Fielder taking on Kyle Kendrick at Coors Field sounds like a great matchup. It gets even sweeter when you consider he is 3-7 with a home run against Kendrick in his career, and he is 6-18 since the All Star break having hit safely in seven of his last eight games.
2B-D.J. LeMahieu-Colorado Rockies
3B-Xander Bogaerts-Boston Red Sox: The only one of my beloved Red Sox even worth a look these days, Bogaerts ended up going 6-14 (.429) in the opening series in Anaheim although his teammates aren’t helping him produce any runs. Bogaets is 23-57 (.404) this month with 11 RBI and has hit safely in nine of his last ten games with five multi-hit games during that time frame.
SS-Troy Tulowitzki-Colorado Rockies
OF-Lorenzo Cain-Kansas City Royals: Picking any Royals tonight is risky since they’re facing Gerrit Cole, but Cain has been scorching hot at the plate this month going 24-56 (.429) with six doubles, a triple, and four home runs. He has hit in nine straight games and is a solid pick tonight even in a rough matchup.
OF-Carlos Gonzalez-Colorado Rockies: I get that CarGo was not good at the beginning of the season, but he’s still a great bargain at 4,400 given his recent performance and the fact that he’s at home against the Rangers tonight. Gonzalez is 18-53 (.340) this month with three homers and eight RBI.
OF-Gerardo Parra-Milwaukee Brewers
