The presidential race is starting to heat up for 2016, and Stephen A. Smith has weighed in on an important issue in a stupid way.

After eight very successful years in office, Barak Obama is going to be handing over the presidential reigns to someone from either political party in America. Until we get to that day January 1, 2017 we are going to hear a plethora of things said by candidates running for his seat.

Most of the stupidity will come from the candidates, but there’s a large portion reserved for pundits and analysts. In this day and age of Twitter, you don’t need a national platform to say dumb things, and Stephen A. Smith is a master at this.

In response to presidential candidate Martin O’Malley saying that ‘all lives matter’ in response to the ‘black lives matter’ movement, he was booed of the stage for obvious reasons.

Not long after that, Smith tweeted out his support.

Here’s the original tweet by everyone’s favorite ESPN talking head:

He followed that up with a few more tweets to let you know he was indeed being serious.

As a white man, I have no grounds to speak on what it’s like to deal with the police like millions of black Americans do. As a human being though, I can support the ‘black lives matter’ movement for what it is — a rallying cry against disgusting police brutality that claims the lives of innocent black people on a seemingly daily basis.

That’s what was wrong with Smith bungling why people were angry about O’Malley’s statements and Twitter was very quick to point this out to him.

This isn’t the first time someone has tried to understand the ‘black lives matter’ movement and so badly misinterpret it. Heck, a presidential candidate doesn’t even understand it, so who is Stephen A. Smith.

Stephen A. Smith is a smart and intelligent person, that’s who he is, which is why so many people were disappointed that he’s taken his backwards sports ramblings and applied the science to things that can’t be undone ‘next season’. That’s not how life works: Eric Garner, Michael Brown, Sandra Bland are not coming back, and there’s a very specific reason they’re dead — and how Smith misses that is mind numbing.

If he — or anyone else — still doesn’t get it, I’ll leave this right here:
