Overview

One yard. Only three feet completely changed the way we look at who the 2014 Seattle Seahawks were. Instead of being two-time defending Super Bowl champions, the Seahawks are looking to rebound from the most painful defeat in team history. Seattle has kept most of the team together, and even added a major piece to the offensive puzzle.

General manager John Schneider was aggressive before free agency began, trading away his first-round pick and former All-Pro center Max Unger for tight end Jimmy Graham. Graham gives quarterback Russell Wilson a red-zone target and another target to rely on outside of hard-nosed running back Marshawn Lynch. Finally, a bit of balance in Seattle.

Major Battle

It seems to be a consistent topic, but the wide receivers are a spot to watch. Seattle drafted Tyler Lockett in the third round, trading multiple picks to move up and nab the Kansas State star. Lockett will try to break through and play on either the outside of in the slot, battling with Jermaine Kearse, Ricardo Lockette, Chris Matthews, Kevin Norwood and Paul Richardson.

Expectations

Going back to the Super Bowl for the third straight year. Seattle is trying to do something that no team has ever accomplished in the NFC, and only the Buffalo Bills of 1990-93 have done in the last 25 years. Seattle has a chance to do so with an intact roster and a coaching staff intent on making up for one of the largest blunders of all-time. Don’t sleep on Seattle.
