14. Indianapolis

Indianapolis is a city that two professional sports franchises call home: Colts (NFL) and Pacers (NBA). Despite the lack of professional sports franchises, this city is truly a haven for sports fans.

First, the Colts have been a prominent NFL team for over a decade under the leadership of quarterbacks Peyton Manning and Andrew Luck. They’ve been to two Super Bowls in the past 10 years and won the Vince Lombardi Trophy once. The Indiana Pacers have been up and down, but contended in the Eastern Conference in recent years.

Indianapolis has also hosted the Super Bowl and will host WrestleMania in 2018.

Aside from that, many other major amateur sporting events have called Indianapolis home. The college basketball tournament has frequently called Indianapolis home, the city hosting the Final Four twice and the Regional Finals three different times. The Big Ten Football Championship Game calls Indianapolis home as well. Indianapolis is also home to the NFL Scouting Combine.

Chelsea and Inter Milan, two major European soccer clubs, have played in Indianapolis as well.

Indianapolis is also one of the meccas of auto racing. The Indy 500 is the biggest race on the Indy Car circuit and the Brickyard 400 is one of NASCAR’s biggest races.
