Jadeveon Clowey is trying to bounce back after a basically non-existent rookie season, but off-field issues aren’t going to make that an easy journey.

It’s going to be an interesting year for sophomore Texans defensive end Jadaveon Clowney, as he attempts to erase a miserable rookie season. There was a lot of hype about the former No. 1 overall pick heading into last season but an injury kept him off the field for most of the action and we haven’t yet been given a good look at his skills in the NFL.

Aside from the action on the field, Clowney has some issues off the gridiron that are probably going to weigh on his mind as he prepares for his second season in the NFL.

According to Bruce Feldman, Clowney’s father was arrested after trying to kill someone at a strip club he was visiting recently.

Clown’s father has a history of getting into trouble, something that was part of the defensive end’s story as he was coming into the NFL on Draft night last year. This has nothing to do with Clowney and he’s not involved in any way with this incident, but it’s still a taxing thing to have to worry about one of your parents in this regard.

Here’s more details on the report, via the Herald:

"The victim told police he saw Morgan standing by a wall near the back of the property around 2:15 a.m. Tuesday and then Morgan fired several shots at him, according to the report. The employee told police he returned fire after Morgan shot at him."

Back in 1995, Clowney’s father was sentenced to 15 years in prison and this latest incident probably won’t go over well when it comes to keeping him out of jail again.

This just sucks on so many levels for Clowney. Like, as a human being to a fellow human being, you can’t help but have your heart go out to a young kid with his life on the right track having to deal with their father in this way. This isn’t the way you’re supposed to interact with your father, and you can’t help but feel terrible for Clowney in these trying times.
