Joe Flacco-Baltimore Ravens

It’s been a few years since going wacko for Flacco resulted in any fantasy goodness.  However, this year the former Super Bowl champion is back to being undervalued after a few down seasons.

Flacco is going off the board in the bottom of the QB2’s ranking 16th in ADP at this point.  He is behind the largely unproven Teddy Bridgewater and the highly volatile Philip Rivers.  I like Flacco better than both of those players and have him in the upper half of my QB2’s.

Flacco has a new offensive coordinator this season as former OC Gary Kubiak left to take over the Broncos.  The new man in charge of calling Flacco’s plays is former Bears’ Head Coach Marc Trestman. Trestman is definitely a pass-first OC that should allow Flacco to stretch the field and take advantage of some of the weapons he has on offense including rookie first-round pick Breshad Perrman (more on him here). While the Ravens did lose Torrey Smith, they still have enough weapons that I think Trestman can get their offense in gear.

One of the most attractive things about Flacco is how late he is lasting on many draft boards. As your second QB or as part of a rotation, Flacco looks to be lined up for a solid season that could have him knocking on the door of the top ten when the end of the season rolls around.
