People on Twitter are mad Arian Foster is an atheist
By Mike Dyce
Fans on Twitter are furious Houston Texans running back Arian Foster doesn’t belive in a God.
Houston Texans running back Arian Foster has ruffled feathers when he made a bold and honest admission. Foster said he is an atheist.
“I get the devil-worship thing a lot. They’ll ask me, ‘You worship the devil?’” Foster said in an interview with ESPN. “‘No, bro, I don’t believe there’s a God, why would I believe there’s a devil?’ There’s a lot of ignorance about nonbelief. I don’t mean a negative connotation of ignorance. I just mean a lack of understanding, a lack of knowledge, lack of exposure to people like me.”
As you would expect, fans weren’t too happy.
It doesn’t help that Foster plays for the Houston Texans, deep in the heart of Southern Baptism and Bible country. To put it in perspective, Joel Osteen is based in Houston and his church draws an average of more than 43,500 in attendance per week in a venue that was once home to the Houston Rockets.
So you can imagine fans weren’t thrilled, and they took to their favorite social media platform to vent.
In fairness, there are a lot of people on Twitter supporting him as well.
