Road. 1994-2002. Sacramento Kings. 26. player. 67.
Black uniforms just work so well in sports — unless you’re the Raiders — and the Kings fully embraced that, along the logo style change that swept through sports in the 90s.

Not only is the bolded cartoon logo cooler than most we saw in this era, the purple and black just work so well together. It also doesn’t hurt that we will forever associate these uniforms with the Kings sudden rise to prominence in the early 2000s and their infamous trip to the Conference Finals in 2002. That was one of, if not the best eras in the franchises history and these uniforms are forever synonymous with that.

You can’t look at these uniforms and not think about Chris Webber, Mike Bibby or any of the other members of that 2002 team that should have gone to the NBA Finals. Instead of associating that with a sour memory, these uniforms have come to represent one of the brightest spots in the history of the franchise and they still continue to be some of the coolest looking uniforms around.
