NFL 2015: Ranking the 32 offenses
23. New York Jets
The New York Jets are almost in the exact same position as the Bills. New York has talent on this offense with running back Chris Ivory and a host of good receivers in Jeremy Kerley, Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker. Both of the latter could have 1,000 yards with a good quarterback while Kerley could develop into one of the best slot receivers in the game.
Unfortunately, there is not a good quarterback on the roster. Geno Smith was going to be the starter before getting punched in the face by his own teammate, breaking his jaw and putting him out 6-10 following surgery. With Smith on the shelf, veteran Ryan Fitzpatrick is taking the reins. Fitzpatrick is a hit-or-miss type of guy, having some solid games before tossing four interceptions the next week.
New York is going to struggle to score against defenses that can cover. Fitzpatrick has always been turnover prone and that trend is not likely to end soon. The Jets have good players on the edges and Ivory is a back that could go for 1,000 yards, but the quarterback situation is an anchor on the ankle.
