6. New England Patriots

Yes, even if Tom Brady is suspended for the first four games of the season, the New England Patriots deserve to be this high on the list. The Patriots don’t have a dominant wide receiver and the running back situation is muddled after Shane Vereen left in free agency, but the offense will continue to hum with Brady and Rob Gronkowski running the show.

Gronkowski is the single biggest mismatch in the NFL today. With his immense size, no safety or corner in the league has any chance of stopping him on a route, while a linebacker is almost always too slow or lacks the hip movement to run downfield. Gronkowski consistently gives Brady a target to hit both on third down and in the red zone, something that most teams can only dream of.

While Jimmy Garoppolo looks horrible and will likely be overwhelmed, the Patriots will rebound once Brady is back in the saddle. New England will be able to put together a prolific offense with Brady, Gronkowski, Danny Amendola, Brandon LaFell and Julian Edelman. Forget the first four weeks, the Patriots are still lethal.
